Nick H: The First 500

This is The Order of the Blind Witness, my Sisters of Battle force for this year’s growth campaign. I’m a casual player and tend to just run my favorite units, so this army probably won’t be especially effective—but it will absolutely be cool.
Canoness
My Warlord. I went with her over a Palatine since her abilities pair really well with the Sacresants. She’s been an absolute rock in my first few games. At one point she tanked a ridiculous number of Nid attacks with Emperor’s Grace—a 2++ is pretty clutch.

Sacresants (x5)
Easily a top-five unit for me. I’m a sucker for the hand weapon + shield combo, and the hoods are just cool. I went with maces because I like the look more than halberds—no idea if they’re actually better, but they feel right.

Battle Sisters (x10)
The meat and potatoes. They’re solid on objectives and can throw out a bit of damage when needed. This squad is running a storm bolter and flamer since they came from the original army box, but I’m planning to swap to a heavy bolter and meltagun once I get them painted.

Seraphim (x5)
My favorite unit in 40K. Jump troops with double pistols is about as cool as it gets. They’re mostly here to grab objectives, but they do it with style.

Penitent Engines (x2)
Another favorite (there’s definitely a pattern here). They’re big, scary, and impossible to ignore—but they don’t always do a ton. That said, they’re tough to bring down and tend to soak up a lot of attention, which makes them great distractions.
